There’s nothing like the crack of the bat.
The roar of the crowd.
The thrill of throwing a fastball inside of a bar and then eating a foot-long chili dog.
Nothing like it.
Except there is, and it’s the Atlanta Braves All Star Grill, an accurately named spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and possibly some baseball, opening Wednesday downtown. (Here’s your slideshow.)
This place is huge. Not stadium-huge, sports-bar-huge. And within its sports-bar-hugeness are brick walls laden with jerseys, trophies and many flat-screens displaying games. There may be a theme here.
It’s probably best enjoyed with a big group of friends. Either at the gigantic blue bar to your left or up front in one of the brown baseball-glove-inspired leather booths. They’re just past the lockers displaying the names Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz… whoever they are.
You’ll get some house-smoked barbecue and ahi tuna tacos for the table. You’ll go a few rounds with The South Paw, which is a cocktail with peach-infused Georgia moonshine.
And somewhere along the way, you’ll think to yourself, “I can throw that fast.” That’s when you’ll head to the back, step into the pitching cage and prove it.
Because there’s a pitching cage.

A piece of the Atlanta Braves is staying downtown.
Just as the team cements its move to Cobb County, downtown event venue 200 Peachtree has landed the Atlanta Braves All Star Grill.
The sports bar concept from Atlanta-based Goldberg’s Group will take 8,000 square feet at 200 Peachtree, joining Meehan’s Public House and Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint.
It’s set to open this summer, around the time the Atlanta Streetcar begins service. The 200 Peachtree venue sits along the route.
“This will be one of the first big announcements of a new tenant that’s on the streetcar line,” said Robert Patterson, …
The Legends Loft @ 200 Peachtree will be a 4,000 sq. ft., privately enclosed event space that has… a “Rustic-Chic” appearance. With design collaboration with one of the industry’s foremost authorities Tony Conway of A Legendary Event, it is sure to be another jewel alongside the Grand Atrium and Carnegie Ballroom.
Contact us today to get a view of this space that is perfect for seated events as large as 150 guests or receptions for 300 of your closest friends or co-workers.
Today is the grand opening for Atlanta’s new 200 foot high Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel! When we first arrived at the opening ceremony, we made it just in time to catch Mayor Kasim Reed’s speech. He emphasized that Atlanta’s growing attractions are going to be great destination for tourists. Once the mayor was finished making his speech, we excitedly waited in line to get on the Ferris wheel. While waiting we talked to some of our favorite vendors Guy Thomson and Ron Horgan (representing Proof of the Pudding caterers) and J. Wilbur Smith and Janis Greenfield with Eventscapes/CCP. When we got to the admission both, we paid a fee of $27 for $13.50 per person. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, we excitedly got into our air-conditioned cell. When the ride began, we rode up half way and took some wonderful pictures of Downtown Atlanta.
Here is a picture of Centennial Olympic Park when we were on top of the ride
The Atlanta Philips Arena and CNN
The Westin Tower and SunTrust Building
The American Cancer Society
The ride felt very safe and was not the least bit scary. Although the height can make a person a little dizzy, 200 Peachtree recommends you check it out if you are around in Atlanta. On our way back we noticed the Tabernacle. This beautiful building is about a century old with a rich history. The Tabernacle is currently operated by Live Nation. Their mission is to inspire passion for live music around the world. They are the largest promoters of live concerts is the second-largest entertainment venue. Famous artists such as The Rolling Stones, Madonna and Coldplay have performed at the Tabernacle. Want to see their latest events and performing artists? Check out the Tabernacle website from the link bellow. We highly recommend it. So in conclusion we had an amazing day down by the Ferris wheel.
